Day 1: Ibiza

Ibiza Balearic Islands

Welcome to Ibiza,

Your journey starts by landing at Ibiza Airport (IBZ), from there you will come to the Ibiza marina where your skipper with a catamaran or sailing yacht will be waiting for you. On the first day we will stay in for you to get introduced to the skipper, and boat and explore the city and find a nice place to have dinner, do not hesitate to our skipper for any recommendations.

Very important will be to take care on your arrival or the next day necessary shopping for food and drinks for the week to come.

Ibiza or per Catalan Eivissa is the Capital of Ibiza Island. It is the third largest island among the Balearic Islands. Home to around 150.000 people.

Like both Mallorca and Menorca it too was a strategic point in its history. First, to be here were the Phoenician settlers who founded the port on Ibiza in 654 BC, later came under the control of Carthaginians. In the Archaeological Museum of Ibiza, findings from their ruling can be found with many others that followed. Museum itself is situated on the hilltop part, named Dalta Vila which is the old historic area of the town.

Sailing Ibiza

This whole area is actually an old fortress with a castle, towers, a cathedral, and some residential homes. The whole complex is believed to have been built in the 16th century as a military and administration complex. Furthermore, the infantry battalion barracks were added in the 18th century and the whole site was under renovation in both the 19th and 20th centuries. However, there are archaeological findings that date to the 12th and 13th centuries. Here you can find the gothic-style cathedral Catedral de la Verge de les Neus (Cathedral of Our Lady of the Snow), built in 1235 after the Catalonian troops conquered Ibiza under the command of Guillermo de Montgrí.

The modern part of Evissa is called Eixample (extension). There is a marina with big luxury yachts, designer shops, cafes, and restaurants.

As you know Ibiza is the ultimate destination for clubbers. So, feel free to get your dancing moves ready and show the world what you got in store. Some of the most famous electronic clubs in the world are there: Amnesia, Pacha, Eden, DC10, Privilege, and many others. Line up speaks for itself, just some of the DJs that drop their beats are Davide Guetta, Calvin Harris, Armin van Buuren, Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas, and Paul Van Dyk.

Day 2: Ibiza - Portinatx

Portinatx Ibiza

In the morning our adventure starts. We will be setting sail to a small place called Portinax on the far north side of Ibiza. Portinax is a quiet area with white fine sand and a crystal-clear sea that has three main beaches S’Arenal Gros, S’Arenal Petit, and Port de Portinatx where mainly families and couples come for a vacation. Here you can snorkel or scuba dive due to the nice vegetation and marine fauna, so don’t forget to bring a mask for snorkeling.

On our way to Portinax where we will aim to arrive in the afternoon, we will stop by on the way for swimming and lunch.

Day 3: Portinax- Benirras beach – Island Conijera - Cala Comete

Cala Benirras is a beautiful bay and beach for a shortstop with crystal clear water that became a popular anchoring place to witness and enjoy a romantic sundown during summer which goes along with the sound of drums every Sunday when hippies gather to perform a hippie ritual “drum down the sunset”. From there we will continue our way to Cala Comete and Conijera island. A legend is tied to the Conijera island that Carthaginian General Hannibal was born on the island, due to the storm ship with his parents aboard had to find a safe place to hide from it and at that present moment, his mother gave birth. After the visit to Conijera, we will move to Cala Comete. A prestige Blue Flag has been awarded it because of its water quality and its clear blue and turquoise color. There we will find a place to stay overnight.

Day 4: Cala Comete – Es Vedra – Espalamador – Plataja De ses Illetes

Pltaja de ses Illetes

Forth day will be marked as a day of ancient myths and legends of Plato and Homer that will take us to the island of Es Vedra. Some claim that it is the island that Odyssey visited upon his journey from the Trojan war. This was the place where Odyssey tied himself to the mast of the ship in order to avoid being tempted to sail his ship closer to the island and wreck it due to Siren's enchanting songs. Furthermore, another group is convinced that this is the leftover of the ancient civilization of Atlantis as described by the Greek philosopher Plato.

On the way to Espalamador, we will pass the red cliffs of Porroigo. Espalamador is adjacent to the island of Formentera just north of it. It is a small inhabited island spoiled with white sand beaches and crystal-clear sea that encompasses the whole island, that’s why you can find beautiful beaches on both sides of the island. Some of the beaches carry the weight of being called the best in the world such as Levante and Cavall. Since its shallow water during the tide, you can also see a small path unveiled that connects to the Formentera.

Regarding its history, it’s like many other islands that are part of the group of Balearic Islands. There were remnants that prove the existence of Punic settlement before the 1st A.D. Furthermore, it was a perfect place for pirates and smugglers throughout its history so you never know what you can find buried in the sand. This almost like a location from a movie will be our place for swimming and exploring beaches.

Our first touch with Formentera will be with Pltaja de ses Illetes the famous sand strip of Formentera that translates to "beach of the small islands". There we will spend the night.

Day 5: Plataja De ses Illetes - Sant Frances de Formentera – Cala Saona

Sant Frances de Formentera

After our easy-going morning and breakfast, we will stop by the port of Sant Frances de Formentera. Sant Francesc de Formentera is the capital of this beautiful island filled with sand beaches, dunes, and pines. From the port of Formentera, you can easily reach it because it is just 3 kilometers away. The town is known for its parish church and a fortress that was used in the 18th century to provide protection against pirate raids. All around the town you can find craft shops and stalls that make custom jewelry, souvenirs, and different types of clothing.

Getting around Formentera is easy. There is an option to take up to 5 bus lines during the day and night one bus line at. Furthermore, it is easy to walk around due to the terrain being flat, there are 32 different paths and tracks to explore. If walking isn’t your thing and you would like to have more action and be faster then feel free to exploit the option to rent both a regular bike and an electric one, they can be rented at La Savina and other spots around the island.

The afternoon will end with us finding a place to stay in Cala Saona. Here the sea is clear, and the bay is quiet and beautiful, with a view of white sand stretching far away accompanied in the background by Punta Pedrera and Punta Rasa. Feel free to stretch your leg and go for a nice walk.

Day 6: Cala Saona – Es Pujols

Cala Saona

Ooooh Friday, we will leave Cala Saona and set sail around the island to reach Es Pujols. On the way there we will stop for swimming and rest for lunch in order to arrive in the evening at Es Pujols. There we can go ashore and visit for the last time our island. There will be options for everybody from live music to easygoing dining.

Day 7: Morning return to Ibiza
