Chartering a bareboat in the British Virgin Islands does not require a formal skipper's licence; however, everything is easier if you do have a valid sailing licence. Instead, the charter base might ask for proof of recent sailing experience on a similarly sized vessel - this is usually done through a short sailing resume submitted before departure. If your experience doesn't meet their requirements, the base may recommend or require a professional skipper for some or all of your trip.

A refundable security deposit of 9980 is due at check-in. It is returned after the charter, less any damage or missing equipment.
