Balearic islands are a group of islands in the western Mediterranean, out of which the biggest ones are: Mallorca, Menorca, Ibiza, and Formentera. All of these islands offer a unique combination of intact nature and wild nightlife. Besides the main islands, some minor ones also belong to this archipelago, including Cabrera, Dragonera, and S'Espalmador.
Maiorca
The main reason that so many tourists visit Mallorca lies in its beautiful picturesque beaches (most popular being Cala Mesquida, Es Calo del Moro, Cala Pi Playa de Palma, and Playa del Arenal) and clear turquoise and sky-blue sea. Mallorca holds many events and is famous for its nightlife, so you will never be bored here. Mallorca offers the best of both worlds: There are many festivals, of which Sa Rua & Sa Rueta is an especially interesting one. However, beauty and fun are not everything that there is to this popular yachting destination. There are also a couple of works of architecture worth seeing while you are passing by, including the cathedral and a castle.
The capital city Palma de Mallorca holds two impressive monuments: Cathedral de Mallorca (La Seo) and the castle Castillo de Bellver. The castle has a circular plan influenced by Eastern architecture built in Romanesque and Gothic arcades. There is a History Museum attached to the castle which is open to the public. There are also a few unusual attractions, such as the houses of Fundación Pilar I Joan Miró.
You can visit this island from May to October, and those first and last months are recommended if you prefer fewer tourists. Since this is quite a big island, you may want to choose a couple of weeks of sailing here before you decide to explore the next destination.
There are several marinas in this area, including several private ones, so it can be hard to track them down to strict numbers, the most important ones are;
La Lonja Marina Charter offers everything a marina should have: electricity and water facilities, showers, restrooms, wifi service and you can find a lot of leisure-themed content nearby including restaurants, bars, and shops. The airport is a 10-minute drive away.
Alcudiamar offers the same facilities and services as the previous marina but has an excellently rated shop and tourism category. Alcúdia is a charming vibrant town in the north whose old town you are bound to fall in love with. You can see the smallest Roman amphitheater in Spain. Being surrounded by mountains, this town makes a great starting point for biking tours and hiking.
Real Club Náutico de Palma de Mallorca, is perhaps the most popular marina in Mallorca because it is located in the capital city so it can offer a lot more than other marinas. All the content is just a short walk or a few steps away, and you can find everything you can think of, cinemas, discotheques, theatres, restaurants, and bars included.
Pantalán del Mediterraneo is a private charter base, 22 meters long, and specialized in serving vessels superyachts. It lies in the very center of Palma. You can fly to Mallorca by landing at Palma international airport, also known as Son Sant Joan Airpot. If you prefer traveling by sea, you can take a ferry from Barcelona but should be aware that this can be a tiresome journey as the ride lasts for 7,5 hours. You can also board a ferry from the port of Dénia.
Minorca
Menorca is a biosphere reserve that puts the accent on matters like sustainability, balance, and the environment. Menorca takes pride in its cultural heritage and archeological sights. Prehistoric Menorca or Talayotic Menorca is being considered for inclusion in UNESCO's World Heritage list. Since the island was used for trading, commerce, and military purposes, you can find several archeological remains on the site. An attraction you don't want to miss is Lithia, a place sculpted out of rock that serves as the proof and legacy of one of the island's most ancient crafts: stonecutter. La Mola is the name of the Fortress of Isabel II and is considered to be one of the largest fortresses built in Europe in the 19th century, as well as one of the finest examples of military architecture in Menorca.
You can also enjoy the small, but exceptional national park Parc Natural de s'Albufera des Grau, where you can rent kayaks, go snorkeling, or hike up the coast. When it comes to leisure activities, Menorca has more than 70 beaches, that vary in a landscape depending on the side of the island. If you are heading north, you will find wild red rock landscapes, while the southern coast will give you the best of the sandy beaches that you can imagine, as it is often compared to the beauty of the Caribbean. Several of them had been recognized as the best beaches in Menorca due to the Blue Flag award: Cala Galdana, Son Bou, Cala en Porter, Binibeca, and Punta Prima. Menorca's capital city is Mahón, which together with Ciutadella, makes two main ports and the largest towns. Ciutadella is built in the Italian architectural style during the 17th century, which gave it artistic unity.

There are three main marinas in Menorca, alongside 3 small anchorages. Those marinas are Marina Menorca (Islas Flotantes), Marina Menorca (Colarsega), and Marina Menorca (Isla del Rey). However, these are not all marinas, as there are also many smaller and minor ones, such as Marina Cala Bosch, Fornells Port, Puerto Antiguo de Ciutadella, and Malvamar Nace,...
Marina Menorca (Islas Flotantess) is considered a good alternative to exploring Mahon, which is located a little higher. The old fish market offers a special experience of tasting original tapas. The biggest downside is the distance to shopping stops and supermarkets, for which you will need to rent a scooter or a bike.
Marina Menorca (Colarsega) offers a greater choice of available services: electricity, showers, restrooms, water, and fuel included, as well as the wifi, so you don't need to feel like you are off-grid. It is located in Mahon town, which will charm you with its historic center. Even winters are warm here, considering that the average temperature in December takes out at about 14 ° C degrees.
Marina Menorca (Isla del Rey) is a small private marina within 10 minutes drive from the city. The ratings are high on hospitality, but there aren't as many services as you might be used to, considering that it is situated in an industrial area.
You can access Menorca by ferry from the ports of Barcelona and Valencia, or by landing at Menorca international Airport and finishing your journey by local bus that operates frequently, by calling a taxi or renting a car.
Ibiza
Alongside with beaches that it is best known for, The Old Town (Dalt Vila) gives Ibiza a unique shape. It was built as a sandstone fortress, as a defense against pirates, and has a grand entrance you will want to take a selfie at. When you reach the top of the hill, it will give you a clear and nice view of the marina that lies below. On the east coast, you can enjoy the Punta Arabi Hippy Market, which has become one of the best and most original markets here and is a great way to spend your afternoon after a swim at the beach. Las Dalias Hippy Market is another fun location to spend your money on the daily objects you will want to use, instead of buying simple old-fashioned souvenirs. It started 40 years ago as a tiny fair, that nowadays holds more than 300 stalls that offer a wide selection of shoes, jewelry, accessories, and clothes. Buy something here and you can wear Ibiza with you all year round.
If you are a mythology geek or just have a thing for mystical places, be sure to take a dip around Es Verda – a mythical rock island that is said to be home to sea nymphs and goddess Tanit, whose statue you will frequently see all across Ibiza. It is also said to be the most magnetic spot on earth. Ibiza has over 80 beaches where you can bask in tranquil scenery and get tan, but when you are yachting to Ibiza, you simply must take this opportunity to visit the beach that bears the mythical name of Atlantis or Pedrera de Cala d'Hort, known as Ibiza's secret and magical cove because it is hard to reach, as well as to find, so when you decide to visit it, you truly are in for an adventure.

It offers every kind of service you might need, from basic facilities and services such as electricity, water, showers, and restrooms to more exclusive ones such as WIFI and video surveillance for extra security.
Marina de Formentera offers all of the above-listed services, in addition to parking, but its biggest downside is not offering fuel and being on the pricy side. It holds 64 moorings.
