Zaton

Zaton

Danielis

A settlement on a bay of the same name northwest of Dubrovnik. The bay that cuts deep into the coast is lined with lovely beaches and is a popular day-trip destination for the inhabitants of Dubrovnik and other tourists. There are two private campsites in the settlement. The pleasant, sheltered surroundings attracted the nobility and wealthy inhabitants of Dubrovnik, who built their summer residences here. There used to be saltpans in the hamlet of Soline. The harbour has two piers, where boats can berth at a depth of 2 or 3 m. There is a good anchorage in the northern part of the bay at a depth of 12 m. The harbour is exposed to westerly winds, and the anchorage to southerly winds.
